Congratulations to HCC Board Member Emlyn Roberts who was awarded ARAgS (Associate of Royal Agricultural Societies) status by the Council for Awards of Royal Agricultural Societies (CARAS) at the Royal Welsh Show this year.
ARAgS is awarded to individuals who have made distinguished contributions and achievements in agriculture and related land-based industries.
The Awards embrace not only practical farming and the development of new husbandry practices, but also research, technology and economics.
Emlyn has been a HCC Board Member since 2021 and is a 4th generation sheep and beef farmer on a traditional upland farm near Dolgellau in Meirionnydd where he has balanced achieving productivity and efficiency with environmental aims and achievements.
Emlyn has also served on the NFU Cymru Less Favourable Area committee as well as being a former Chair of the Meirionnydd branch. He is also the director of the sheep section at Meirionydd Show and is the Meirionydd representative for the British Wool Board.
